Oh ..The Suckness of Stuckness

A sage, one of the few it’s been my privilege to know, told me that you can liken being stuck, to that of being bogged down in a swamp.

The clinging mud, water, seeping cold damp of despair, up to your ankles and the swamp reeds high, you can’t see above them. Only what’s before you, around you, is this curtain of frustrations, despair. You can’t see the wood from the trees! How do I get out, unstuck?

But for this small truth, in every swamp there are always pathways;

·       First .. Stand still,  (tramping around just makes more mud, and often more ‘stuckness’

·       Breathe, calm your mind

·       Accept the feeling, acknowledge it. Denial just deadens creative thinking

·       And now the hard part. ‘listen’: Yes, being quiet and listening can indeed lead to finding ways out of a "swamp," both literally and figuratively. In a literal sense, being quiet and listening to your surroundings can help you identify safe paths or hidden dangers in a physical swamp. Figuratively, being quiet and listening, particularly in conflict or difficult situations, allows for better understanding, empathy, and ultimately, more constructive solutions.

·       Somewhere out there, often closer than you thought, is higher ground.

·       This is not the time for impatience or impulse. Its time to listen, gather insight, from within and without, trust intuition.

·       From the perspective of standing still, allow your intuitive thinking and small exploration by parting the ‘reeds’ .. Instincts you had forgotten were part of you, will waken, focus and slowly reveal the pathway you seek.
